Orphan to Sonship

“Every person on earth is somewhere on the journey from orphan to so ship.” – Restoring the Foundations

The fall of mankind separated us forever from our Father, our Creator. Yet since that very moment that Adam & Eve chose sin, the Lord has been working to restore us into the relationship we once had with him. Jesus made the way for us to no longer be orphans, but to be adopted once again as sons and daughters of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Does this change your perspective of the people around you? It does for me. When I see someone who continuously rejects Jesus or continues to make poor choices, I now see them not as a hopeless, terrible person, but as a spiritual orphan. Orphans operate out of pain, hurt, self-protection and self-preservation. And so, I pray that they may one day know who they were created to be – a son or daughter of God.

Where are you on this journey? There are absolutely times when I still live out of the orphan spirit – times when I react in sin out of anger, fear or abandonment. Yet I am also learning SO much about what it means to know my identity as a daughter. To go to my Father God in everything, good or bad, to be real with Him, to trust Him in my vulnerability.

Let Father God tell you who you are. Believe Him when he says you are priceless, a treasure. Stand firm and secure in knowing you are forever grafted into his kingdom family. You are a son. You are a daughter. You are forever loved.

I'm a dreamer who loves spending lazy days nestled up at home with her husband and three boys. I am always up for meeting new people and learning new things. My absolute biggest passions in life are seeing lives transformed by Jesus and helping people achieve their dreams. Currently, I'm studying up on how to homestead using regenerative agricultural practices, and am thrilled to share our journey in Colorado with you all!
